Maisie, Hammond’s brilliant but enigmatic granddaughter, throws a wrench into Mills’ works. He wants to arm the man-made creatures, and the mansion is to be the site of a big auction of the captured animals. But Mills’ vision is very different from that of Hammond or Lockwood. Mills operates from the estate of mega-millionaire Benjamin Lockwood (James Cromwell), a supposed partner of John Hammond who wants to continue the great job yada yada yada. ![]() This is the section where director Bayona can showcase all the muscle his corporate overlords have allowed him to muster. ![]() The film then changes tone and structure, going from a standard open-air festival of chaos to a gothic mansion tale – Charlotte Bronte with Thunder Lizards.
